Flowers that Mirror Color Trends of Fall 2021

When we think of fall colors our mind typically goes to yellow, orange, red, and brown hues. As the leaves change into these beautiful colors and the fall foliage creates a stunning landscape, our home decor and fashion trends reflect the change of season, too. While they are often influenced by the natural tones of Mother Nature, every year we see new color trends to help brighten up the tone of fall. This year, Pantone is predicting unique color trends for the 2021 fall and winter, and here at Durocher Florist, the best flower shop in Springfield, we are pairing these hues with our favorite flowers.

Pantone’s Fall Color Trends & Your Favorite Fall Flowers

Green Hues

Rich jewel tones, such as emerald green, are popular colors for autumn when it comes to fashion, home decor, and even autumn floral arrangements, as stunning greenery creates a full, lush, and eye-catching bouquet. For 2021, Pantone is buzzing about more than the tried and true hunter green, but including “olive branch” and “leprechaun” in their list of trending fall colors. Enter green hydrangea, fresh eucalyptus, sweet succulents, lucky orchids, and whimsical greenery to our autumn flower lineup.

Blue Hues

Cool, soft blues seldom come to mind when we think about the autumnal season. However, Pantone is changing this by including “rhodonite,” “spring lake,” and “Mykonos blue” to the 2021 fall color trends. This season, you are sure to admire more blue blooms in your home like blue thistle flowers, blue orchids, blue hydrangea, blue delphinium, blue iris, and blue aster.

Yellow Hues

Seasonal crops, like squash and corns, and signature autumnal foliage has helped yellow climb on top of a tall pedestal. So, while we marvel over this “golden hour” of seasons, Pantone’s “illuminating yellow,” also one of the two colors of the year for 2021, is also finding its way into fall floral bouquets. Yellow blooms like gladiolus, daisies, roses, sunflowers, mums, and Craspedia billy balls, are all among the hopeful and strong yellow tones to bring into any home or space.

Pink Hues

Spring and summer aren’t the only seasons that have the pleasure of celebrating pink. This autumn, expect to be met with flirty, vibrant, sweet, and graceful pinks, especially Pantone’s “fuchsia fedora” and “pale rosette.” Embrace a fresh take on fall fashion, accessories, decor, flowers, and more by incorporating both the softest pastel pink and the most vibrant fuchsias. Autumn arrangements with alstroemeria, gerbera daisies, lilies, roses, gladiolus, and more pink flowers are absolutely “in” this fall.

Red Hues

Get cozy this season with Pantone’s “fire whirl.” This bold, warm, cherry red hue not only draws our attention towards comfy red hats, scarfs, flannels, and blankets, but also a big basket of red delicious apples, and perhaps a large red mug of hot tea, hot cider, hot chocolate, or a hot morning coffee. Enhance your space this autumn with red sunflowers, roses, mums, and carnations for a classic, warm, and inviting home.

White Hues

“No white after Labor Day” is a tradition we are happy to leave behind as Pantone’s “coconut cream” and “soybean” have established their rightful place as trending autumn hues. From faux fur home decor and white pumpkins to white jackets and sweaters, these tones are becoming increasingly popular for the autumnal season. Create more hygge in your home by adding fresh white flowers like anemones, hydrangea, calla lilies, orchids, roses, daisies, and more.

Brown Hues

Pantone’s “root beer” and “adobe” celebrate the natural brown hues that the fall season offers. As neutral shades pair seamlessly and beautifully with many of your favorite autumn flowers to create a festive, warm, and trendy color palette, it is no surprise that fall fashion, accessories, and decor are booming with brown. Flower arrangements that include blooms with stunning, large brown centers, like daisies and sunflowers, or are decorated with accent sticks, twigs, dried leaves, and lotus pods are popular and perfect for any setting.

Fall flower arrangements are just as breathtaking, fresh, and fabulous as spring and summer flower arrangements. They provide natural and living decor for your home to truly liven up and freshen up your home. We are certain that you will find the perfect autumn blooms here at Durocher Florist to match the trends of the season and seamlessly blend into your home decor.
