In the News: Buying Valentine’s Day gifts without hurting your wallet
As Valentine’s Day approaches, many people are on the hunt for the perfect surprise for their loved ones. However, one of the big questions this year is “how much will romance cost?” Western Mass News visited Durocher Florist, the premier flower shop in Springfield, to learn more about the costs of fresh flowers, especially iconic roses.
Heather Sullivan shared with Western Mass News that the price of Valentine’s Day blooms is comparable to last year’s. As some industries are seeing price increases, the flowers at Durocher Florist are holding steady. A dozen roses are still the same price in February 2026 as they were in February 2025. This is excellent news for customers, whether they’re looking to purchase per stem or a signature arrangement. As always, the flower shop offers arrangements that fit a variety of budgets.
Valentine’s Day is for everyone! According to Heather, you don’t need to spend a million dollars to tell someone you love them.
